When is my Part 107 recurrent training due?
Your certificate never expires, but your recency does. Enter the date you passed the test or last trained and get the exact deadline, counted the way the FAA counts calendar months.
Pick a date to see how long you stay current. Nothing is sent anywhere; the date stays in this browser.
How the FAA counts 24 calendar months
The window runs to the last day of the month, 24 months after the month you passed or trained. The FAA's own example in AC 107-2A: a test passed on September 13, 2020 means recurrent training is due no later than September 30, 2022. Your certificate itself never expires; only the recency to use it does. Details in Part 107 renewal and recency.
Renewal questions
- Does a Part 107 certificate expire?
- No. The FAA says the certificate is permanent unless revoked. What expires is your aeronautical knowledge recency: you must pass the initial test or complete recurrent training within the previous 24 calendar months to act as remote pilot in command (14 CFR 107.65).
- When exactly is my Part 107 recurrent training due?
- On the last day of the month, 24 months after the month you passed the test or last completed training. AC 107-2A's example: a test passed September 13, 2020 means training is due no later than September 30, 2022.
- How do I renew Part 107?
- Complete the free Part 107 Small UAS Recurrent course, ALC-677, on FAASafety.gov. Part 61 pilots with a current flight review can take ALC-515 instead. The FAA opens ALC-677 to certificate holders regardless of current recency.
- How long is a passing knowledge test report valid?
- For applying for the remote pilot certificate, the FAA's Remote Pilot ACS says a passing test report is valid for 24 calendar months.
