Retaking the Part 107 exam
Failed the Part 107 test? You can retest after 14 days. Use your score report's ACS codes, a targeted simulator mode and a clear plan to pass the second time.
Updated
If you failed the Part 107 knowledge test, you can retake it after 14 days. That wait is useful: your FAA score report tells you which knowledge areas cost you points, listed as ACS codes, and 14 days is enough to fix two or three weak areas properly. Retakers usually fail on a few specific topics, not on everything, so a targeted plan beats re-reading the whole course.
14 days
the minimum wait before a Part 107 retest after a failed attempt
Step 1: read your score report
Your Airman Knowledge Test Report lists the ACS codes for every area where you missed questions, such as UA.III.A.K2 for METARs. Write them down. Each code is a page in the Clear107 handbook, organized by exactly those codes. The post on what happens after a failed test explains the report line by line.
Step 2: fix the areas on the report
| Days | What to do |
|---|---|
| 1 to 2 | Read the handbook pages for each ACS code on your report |
| 3 to 8 | Drill those areas until you get them right consistently |
| 9 to 11 | Run full timed simulations; review every miss |
| 12 to 14 | Light review, then a final simulator run two days before the test |
Step 3: practice under exam conditions
The exam simulator comes with Practice Pass: 60 questions, 120 minutes, answers hidden until you submit. Clear107 Pro adds Target Missed/New, which fills each run with questions you missed or have not seen. For a retake that is the fastest way to stop seeing the same mistakes.
When are you ready to retest?
When your readiness score is high, which means your recent full exams were passed in time with a margin, not after one good attempt. The score guide shows what margin to aim for.
146 learners have reported their FAA results to us. 144 passed the first time, and the other two passed on their second attempt. A failed first try is common and very fixable.
