Clear107 vs Drone Launch Academy

Drone Launch Academy is one of the long-running online Part 107 courses, built around HD video lectures led by chief instructor David Young, an FAA Advanced Ground Instructor. Clear107 goes the other way: no video, a diagnostic first, then drills on what you miss. Both prepare you for the same 60-question FAA test.

What do they cost?

Drone Launch Academy's course page lists the Part 107 Test Prep Course at $199 with lifetime access and content updates when FAA rules change. Clear107 Pro is $13.99 once with lifetime access, or $4.99 a month for the Practice Pass.

What is included?

Drone Launch Academy lists HD video lectures, more than 300 practice questions, an e-book of 75+ pages, five full-length FAA-style practice tests and instructor support. Its site describes the course as 8 to 10 hours of content.

Clear107 has a written handbook organized by the FAA's ACS codes, a bank of 1,281 questions with 496 built on FAA charts and figures, drills that follow your missed questions, a readiness score and a 60-question simulator with Practice Pass in the real format. Free tools such as flashcards and the METAR decoder need no account.

How do the guarantees compare?

Drone Launch Academy's course page offers a course refund if you fail, plus an exam registration fee credit, under conditions: before the FAA exam you must complete all modules, earn its certificate of completion with 85% or better on a final exam, and score 85% or higher on one of its practice finals within 7 days before your test, then request the refund within 90 days.

Clear107 Pro's 100% Readiness Pass Guarantee refunds the Pro price if you reach 100% readiness in Clear107 before your next FAA attempt and do not pass, under the terms on the pass guarantee page. Any first purchase is also refundable within 7 days. Both guarantees reward finishing the program before you test.

Which should you pick?

Choose Drone Launch Academy if you want instructor video lectures and an e-book to study from. Choose Clear107 if you prefer to find and fix weak spots by practice, for a fraction of the price. The Clear107 vs King Schools comparison and Clear107 vs DARTdrones cover two more options.
